Saw Palmetto, whose botanical name is serenoa repens, is a small, low-growing, dwarf-palm tree native to southeastern North America, particularly Florida. The plant produces berries that when ripe, from August to September, are picked and powdered for use in health supplement products such as Saw Palmetto capsules.Reports show that saw palmetto improves the health of the prostate gland. This product is excellent for anyone with an enlarged prostate. It takes about 40 days on the given dosage to reduce prostate back to normal size, but my surgeon was very surprised and pleased with the results. It does not stop one going to the toilet in the night but certainly increases flow and puts one nearly back to normal.
